Woman of the Year 2018

@ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

The Union County Branch of the NAACP is excited to announce its 2018 Annual “Woman of the Year” Program. The “Woman of Year” Program is a proud tradition initiated by Medgar Evers, the NAACP’s first field secretary in Mississippi. The program is designed to promote interest in NAACP chapter activities, stimulate competition among branches and serves as a reminder of the 1954 school desegregation decision by the U. S. Supreme Court.

We are extending an invitation for local churches to participate in this event. This annual extravaganza will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 5pm at Flag Branch Missionary Baptist Church, 2618 Old Pageland Monroe Road, Monroe, NC 28112.  We are asking each church to select a woman to represent their church in the “Woman of Year” Program. Each candidate selected will raise money for the NAACP.  Your support will enable the Union County Branch NAACP to provide assistance locally and at the state level to assist in ensuring people’s rights are upheld and that they are treated with dignity and respect
